I recently came across a bottle of Scott Harvey 2008 Mountain Selection Barbera at a local wine shop. Now I will admit I am a big fan of Scott’s wines. They are always well balanced and full of fruit flavor. His Zinfandel is at the top of my personal list.  So tasting a bottle of this Barbera was something I was looking forward to. Now, keep in mind Scott is currently selling the 2010 Barbera on his website so this is an older vintage I am talking about.

I have to say this wine did not disappoint me. Rich and full of flavor with touches of strawberry’s in the nose. Extremely smooth with cherry, berries, and oak favors, with a finish that is like velvet and flavors that hold on for the long haul.

People who truly know wine know Scott Harvey and his contributions over 30 years in the industry. If you’re not familiar with Scott and his wines you owe it to yourself to get a bottle or two of his wine.
