Pierre Chainier Sauvignon Blanc “1749” 2014 Quick Notes

This is an extremely tart Sauvignon Blanc. However, in my opinion, the tartness adds to the character of the wine. Nice citrus flavors especially of lemon.

This wine is available in most areas of the country (USA) and for the price point it’s worth checking out.

The Pierre Chainier Sauvignon Blanc is a great wine in the evening when you want to kick back and relax.

Oyster Bay 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Wine Review

This beautiful wine from Oyster Bay Winery is full, rich and very complex. It has wonderful overtones of crisp green apples, with pear, and pineapple. The finish is smooth and begs for another taste. It should be on your list to try.

As the winery says ” The philosophy of Oyster Bay is to produce fine, distinctly regional wines that are elegant and assertive with glorious fruit flavours.” This wine shows those flavors and the region at its best.

Margerum “Sybarite” 2011 Sauvignon Blanc Wine Review

20140209-125201.jpg

This is an amazing Sauvignon Blanc. The 2011 vintage is very well balanced with overtones of citrus flavors with intense grapefruit flavors. Hints of cantaloupe in the finish. Do not serve this wine extra cold as you will lose some great flavors.

The Sybarite Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from Grapes grown at McGinley Vineyard (38%), Three Creek Vineyard (32%), Grassini Vineyard (22%) and Curtis Vineyard (8%).

If your a fan of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc’s, you must try this excellent wine.

Cloudy Bay 2012 Sauvignon Blanc Review

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Cloudy Bay is for many the benchmark of Sauvignon Blanc wines.  The 2012 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is no exception to that rule.  This superb wine is extremely intense and rich with strong overtones of cantaloupe, grapefruit and hints of apricot.  The finish falls off smoothly with a richness usually reserved for Chardonnay.  I don’t want to come out and say the 2012 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is the best Sauvignon Blanc out there, but so far it’s my benchmark.

APPELLATION: Marlborough, New Zealand
HARVEST DATE: March 14, 2012
WINE ALCOHOL: 13.5% by volume
WINE ACID: 7.5 grams per liter
WINE PH: 3.30
